In the first of our holiday guides, we’ve asked Enclothed customer and self-confessed Ibiza evangelist Gordon Lee to give us his top 5 recommendations for the White Isle.

Our expert stylists have added the clothes for each Ibiza occasion.

1. GET OUT ON THE WATER

I recommend www.ibizaspeedboats.com in San Antonio

The day that you charter a boat for your friends and family will be their best day in Ibiza. To see this beautiful island from the sea is a real treat but to dive into crystal clear waters in one of the many secluded bays feels almost as if you’re cheating life and winning. The best beaches and coves are on the west coast and are most easily reached from San Antonio harbour not Ibiza Town. Hire a boat from here and you’ll return to port for the world famous sunset in front of Café Mambo.

From beach to bar, here’s what you’ll need to swim all day and go out all evening.

2. BE WAITED ON HAND & FOOT

I recommend www.tropicanaibiza.com at Cala Jondal

One of the great luxuries in life is doing next to nothing. Put the following on shuffle and repeat: lie down, snooze, sip cocktails, gentle swim, bite to eat.

Most people will head to the beautiful Cala Jondal to go to the Blue Marlin www.bluemarlinibiza.com/ibiza/ Name checked in Dizzy Rascal’s Holiday, it’s a bit showy for but I have friends who love it there, so go and have a drink when you’re heading home but spend the day at the other end of the beach at Tropicana. Book their super comfy sun loungers (ask for the ones on the left facing the sea, as the sun goes down earlier on those on the right) and let their fabulous cabana boys ferry you drinks and food all day long. It needn’t be expensive either. They do my favourite club sandwich in the world for about €10. It’s the perfect place to recover after a big night out.

3. THE BEST PAELLA & THE MOST PERFECT VIEW

I recommend www.elcarmencaladhort.com at Cala D’Hort

I’m almost reticent to recommend this place for fear that I might never get a table again! El Carmen at Cala d’Hort is my favourite lunchtime restaurant: their paella de marisco is the best and the view across the water to Es Vedra is simply stunning. When you book, ask for a table at the front. I love it on Sundays in particular when it’s full of Spanish families and there’s that wonderful buzz you hear when friends talk excitedly together. Make sure you take your swimmers and have a dip in the sea before or after your meal. We like to swim out to the submerged rock about 30 metres from the shore, from which we stand and wave to those still sipping Hierbas in the restaurant.

4. DINNER & PEOPLE WATCHING

I recommend www.laolivaibiza.com for dinner in the Dalt Villa, Ibiza Town. Make sure you book a table outside.

There are many fabulous restaurants in Ibiza – so I’ve only picked my absolute favourites. I’m a big fan of White Ibiza www.white-ibiza.com – they have impeccable taste, so if you don’t follow my recommendations follow theirs and you’ll see Ibiza at it’s most stylish. I’ve picked La Oliva not just because the food is consistently good but because it’s a lovely walk to get there and the location in the magical old town of the Dalt Villa is picture postcard perfect at night. Dinner in Ibiza Town is also a good excuse to dress up a little.

5. YOU’VE GOT TO GO CLUBBING

I recommend Pikes www.pikesibiza.com especially if they’re hosting a Melon Bomb party.

Actually I recommend Pikes for everything from Sunday Roast, cocktails by their famous swimming pool to simply being a fabulous place to stay. If you have the time and the energy you should of course go to Pacha (for the Funky Room), Eden (Defected), Hi (Glitterbox), Amnesia (Elrow & Cream) or DC10 (CircoLoco & Paradise). However I suspect that you’ll love Pikes the best. See www.ibiza-spotlight.com/night/club_dates for what’s on. Pikes isn’t listed here as it’s guest list only but if you ask nicely they’ll put you on it.
